In this installment, we take a look at the top 20 games of 2017. This is a list that many people, both hardcore gamers and casual gamers, will have an opinion on, depending on their tastes. Since this is a list based on taste, we had to analyze a lot of different factors before making these rankings, including sales numbers, critical scores and user ratings.
The list of the Ultimate Ranking has been published for several years now, but it’s never been the same. The very first list was made in 2009, and it started with the Mario games. The list was made in a very simple way: the games were ordered by their legacy. What does it mean? The games are considered the greatest video games of all time, according to the votes of the users who create the list.
“The Ultimate Ranking –” is an open ended ranking system that I designed to help people find games based on a number of different criteria. The ranking system is designed to be simple and easy to understand, and to include games that most people are likely to be interested in. On the following pages you can see all the games that have been ranked so far, and where we think they should be placed. I hope you enjoy reading my work and look forward to the next update!
League of Legends has been responsible for two things in my life:
I lost most of my friends, and my weeping threshold was reduced to the ground.
Fortunately, I can always play Amumu and enjoy the lyrical irony. However, staring at the same old green bandage guy becomes old, and I believe it’s time for an update.
So today we’re going through all of Amumu’s skins and rating them according to what they provide and how many kidneys you’ll have to trade to acquire them.
11. Amumu of Vancouver
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
Released on February 12th, 2010 with a cost of 520 RP
This skin seems to be the forerunner of Chroma skins.
It doesn’t do anything more than give some color to our lonely mummy.
It has an Olympic theme and is an expensive collectable, so I can’t really say it’s terrible.
However, the other skins provide so much more.
If some of his skills were related to the Olympic theme, I would have ranked it higher.
But for the time being, it’s at the bottom of my priority list.
Amumu, the Almost-Prom King
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
The 7th of February, 2011 was the date of release. The cost is 520 RP.
I appreciate where they were going with this skin, particularly the idea of a sad Amumu losing his Prom King title.
However, it didn’t get that far in terms of visuals.
Despite the fact that the splash image is stunning and conveys the whole narrative, the in-game model fails to convey the concept.
They just added a toupee and a suit to Amumu’s basic model.
It certainly has a stylish appearance, and for just 520 RP, it’s an excellent value. But it’s probably not the one I’d choose.
Hextech Amumu (nine)
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
Date of Publication: September 26th, 2019 10 Gemstones for the price of ten
If you’ve read any of my previous posts, you’ll know that I’m particularly critical of Hextech skins due to their exorbitant pricing.
Hextech Amumu, on the other hand, is one of my favorites.
The in-game model, which clearly draws influence from Wall.E, is well done, and the animations are all well-polished and thematically cohesive.
I really enjoy his background motion, which seems to be a common motif among the higher-tier Amumu skins.
So, why am I giving it such a poor rating?
There are three major causes for this:
First and foremost, the voice over was not re-done to match the style.
That leads to my second argument, which is that a separate skin has already done the robotic theme, not to mention that one is cheaper and has a better voice-over.
Finally, a guy can only sell so many organs in his lifetime.
8. Amumu who has been re-gifted
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
Released on December 14th, 2010 with a cost of 520 RP
This skin has a pretty basic concept, and I believe it is executed well.
Amumu was given to the Riot gods as a gift, and his in-game form now reflects it.
However, as one would expect from a 520 RP skin, it’s very restricted, changing just the in-game model.
That doesn’t bother me. However, a more expensive skin with a similar look and very well-made and polished animations is available, so I’m sorry I’ll have to sell out here.
7. Amumu, the Little Knight
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
The 18th of July, 2011 was the day on which the film was released. The cost is 750 RP.
I’m not sure why this skin is so cheap, given Amumu has a lot of basic character model altering skins and this is the only one that isn’t 520 RP.
The skin is in excellent condition. But it’s nothing to write home about.
Thematically, having Amumu be a knight is a little off, but the armor design is really clean and beautiful here, so I’ll overlook that.
The splash art is also very good, since it seems like it came straight out of a tale.
Maybe the unexplained 230 RP were added by the improved splash art? Who knows what will happen!
Pharaoh Amumu (number 6)
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
Date of Publication: February 2nd, 2010 The cost is 520 RP.
Given that Amumu is a mummy, this skin was an easy option for him.
It simply alters the basic skin, but all of the animations are already in keeping with the pharaoh concept. As a result, I’m not able to deduct points for it.
The skin complements his ult well, as it seems as though an ancient Egyptian curse has been cast over the country!
I do wish the yellows on the in-game model were a little more apparent, as they are in the splash image, but that is a small quibble.
Amumu, the Pumpkin Prince
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
On October 22nd, 2023, the film will be released. 1350 RP is the price.
The next five skins are all very appealing, and I find myself switching between them on a regular basis.
But, for the time being, I’ll place Pumpkin Prince Amumu at the bottom of my “best of” list due to a small quibble.
With great design choices throughout, the skin does an amazing job of making Amumu both cute and scary. His backing animation never ceases to amaze me, and the ult animation for this skin is my personal fave.
My only criticism is that his Q animation isn’t very good.
It seems to be OK, but having the Q be chains rather than pumpkin root is a little off-putting.
Especially considering we’ve already seen the chain animation.
4. Emumu
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
Price: 520 RP Released: August 1st, 2010
Maybe it’s because of nostalgia or my obsession with puns, but I’m completely smitten with this skin.
Despite the fact that the skin is undoubtedly dumb!
But, apart from the name pun, having Amumu be an emo child simply made so much sense to me. This has to go on my top tier list.
He also appears like he came right out of a South Park episode, which I think is fantastic.
Emumu will always be important to me, even if it can’t compete with the more costly beautiful skins that are to come.
3. Amumu’s Surprise Party
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
The film was released on March 31st, 2015. 1350 RP is the price.
Re-Gifted Amumu should have been like this.
Although I’m not sure which party Amumu could canonically attend, he’s certainly up for a good time!
The in-game model is adorable (pun intended), and all of the animations are themed on the classic Surprise Party.
I really enjoy his Q, since I believe it is a skill that many other Amumu skins overlook.
They also added a cool feature to his ult here: it will create a happy smile when you strike an opponent and a sad face when you miss entirely.
I like it when my skills reflect how I feel on the inside.
2. Amumu, the Sad Robot
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
Date of Publication: May 28th, 2012 1350 RP is the price.
Sad Robot Amumu is a well conceived and performed game.
I can’t think of anything negative to say about it.
All of the ability animations were done in a manner that makes sense, and the voice-over was given the traditional robot approach.
His Q is composed of wires, his W makes him spew oil, his E has an electrical effect, and his ult has actual emojis portraying a sad face at the boundaries.
Overall, this is a fantastic skin that any Amumu fan should consider purchasing.
1. Amumu the Infernal
Riot Games is responsible for this image.
Date of Publication: October 16th, 2018 1350 RP is the price.
This is the finest Amumu skin there is (debatably).
Who knew that turning a weeping bandage kid into a sad fiery Satan spawn was the greatest way to show him?
Despite the fact that this design decision seems to be random, everything works out well.
The recall animation is a valuable national asset that must be safeguarded. And without going crazy, all of the talents were given a flaming tone.
This time around, having his Q consist of chains made more sense, and his W and ult are both spotless.
Note that this material was produced utilizing Riot Games’ “Legal Jibber Jabber” policy and Riot Games’ assets. This project is neither endorsed or sponsored by Riot Games.
A ranking is an easy thing to create. It’s like putting a person in a box and saying “here are the best X, Y, and Z”. It’s not that easy to figure out, though. You have to compare things, consider somebody’s worthiness as compared to other things, compare talent and skill, and so on. A ranking for that matters, “The Ultimate Ranking”, is a process that involves these things, and so it is important to make clear how it’s made..
