NVIDIA is holding a very interesting price drop this month for the GeForce series of GPUs, with the GeForce RTX 2070 going from €395 to €355. This is a significant drop, equaling roughly a 20%, and it isn’t quite as good as the price drop we saw from NVIDIA last month when the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti went from €379 to €309.

It’s a good thing that NVIDIA has lower prices these days, or else there might be no GeForce 2080, 2070, 2060, or 2070Ti for gamers to buy. The GeForce RTX 2070 and 2080 are significantly faster than the GTX 1080 Ti and Titan Xp, respectively, and the GeForce RTX 2060 is faster than the GTX 1060 6GB.

If you haven’t already done so, you should check out this follow-up article, which talks about the GeForce RTX series’ price drops. The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, for instance, is now available in factory-overclocked versions for both Amazon and Newegg, for the best price I’ve ever seen. Meanwhile, the RTX 2080, which is usually the more expensive Turing card, is now the more affordable “RTX 2070.”

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs Are Getting Cheaper While AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series GPUs Are Getting More Expensive in GermanyNVIDIA image

Things seem to be looking bright for hardware aficionados in Germany who are still seeking to purchase an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics card, since retail pricing trends show that Ampere GPUs are gradually decreasing in price.

Unfortunately, AMD fans who haven’t been able to get their hands on a Radeon RX 6000 Series GPU can’t say the same.

Pricing for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards has decreased by almost 10% since July 4, according to an updated retail price trend chart provided by 3DCenter.org last week, but things are going in the other way for red team. During the same time period, the price of AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series GPUs increased by 6%.

According to 3DCenter.org, this may be due to a lack of availability—“AMD’s accelerators are for the most part not as easily accessible as those from nVidia.” If current trends continue, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards are anticipated to reach close to their MSRPs by the end of the year.

Although availability is excellent, prices do not fluctuate significantly.

The prices of AMD are trending higher.

nVidia’s pricing have been continuously going lower. By the end of the year, it may be close to MSRP. https://t.co/EeLHwfDON2 pic.twitter.com/TxEMOehtgw https://t.co/EeLHwfDON2

[…] nVidia is now “only” at a price exaggeration of 50%, while AMD is at a price exaggeration of 59 percent. Unfortunately, the most costly accelerators skew the overall average for both graphics chip manufacturers (with the lower price exaggerations).
