The air jump is a feature found in many other games, but never in Recompile, a twisted puzzle game. In this game, you are tasked with jumping from the bottom of the screen to the top, while avoiding (or jumping over) various traps and enemies. The game starts out simple enough, but as you progress, the challenge increases. You might never master the air jump mechanic, but I hope you can at least learn how to get the air jump in Recompile.
The air jump in Recompile is a unique mechanic in which the player jumps higher by pushing the ball up into the air. It’s a very subtle mechanic, and it’s easy to miss. This tutorial video walks you through the steps you need to master the air jump in Recompile.
To get the air jump in Recompile, you need to make the jump and then wait for a while for the water to fill the gap. If it doesn’t all the time, just use the water arrow to keep it filled.
In virtually every 3D platformer, the air leap is required, and Recompile is no exception. However, rather than being accessible by default, you’ll have to hunt it out in Recompile’s digital wilderness. This guide will show you where to look for it.
To advance farther in this mainframe 3D platformer, you’ll need to use the air jump since you’ll need to reach higher ledges. We do, however, know where it is. After completing the introductory level, go to the Central Exchange, the primary center. A green elevator may be found to the right of the orange equipment and blue power buildings.

Once you’ve reached the bottom, continue sprinting ahead until you notice a spiral structure. Take the elevator on the left to the top floor. After you’ve taken the elevator, turn left again. You’ll see a green lightning gateway. Take a step inside. You’ll now be taken to Hex Maintenance, a new location.

You’ll be standing on a rocky outcropping. Drop to the ground and walk until you come upon a button switch. Take advantage of the opportunity. Look down down to find a shady route that awaits your arrival. Make your way along this route with caution. When you reach a wall, look to the left for a pipe you may leap down to. When you arrive, wander around until you come across another button switch. Turn it on.
After that, leap to the region where all of the red pipes lead and onto the rocky platforms on the right. Make your way to the green cube, which will provide you with some lore if you’re interested. Travel around the region until you come upon a green part of the level approximately 10 meters away from your program.

Turn left to discover several useful platforms that will take you to a second green cube and a switch. After that, make your way over to the green section and turn on the switch. There’s an elevator there. It should be taken down.
Take the route to the left once the elevator trip is completed. Make sure you don’t fall. At the end of this perilous stretch, you’ll discover a switch. Turn right and start climbing the slope you’re on. As you go up the hill, you’ll come across two switches that must be turned on. Continue until you reach a fork in the road. You may then discover a platform that will take you to a different part of the level. At the end of the route you’re traveling, you should notice a large, black spiral.

A few ball-like structures with shaky textures should be seen on the right. There’s also a switch here. However, be cautious when you approach, since you’ll have to use a weapon to combat two hostile security bots. Remove them and turn on the light. After that, you’ll be able to locate several platforms that will take you down. You’ll see two blocks with plug indications after you’ve made your way there. A switch may be found to the right.
A shimmering green bridge should be visible on the left route. Find the final three switches by running across it.

A black ball with yellow lines flying around it appears in front of you once triggered. Make touch with it to learn how to do an air leap.
