Need for Speed The Run is a racing game developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts for the iOS and Android platforms. The mobile version is an enhanced version of the 2012 racing game Need for Speed: Most Wanted, a reboot of the long-running, testosterone-fueled racing franchise, and EA Black Box has teamed up with Criterion Games, the development team behind the Burnout series, to bring the Need for Speed experience to the mobile platform.

It’s been exactly one year since the launch of Need for Speed: The Run , and we’re still playing it on a daily basis.  Since EA’s last Need for Speed game, we’ve had Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Need for Speed: The Run , and now Need for Speed: Rivals . But there’s one glaring omission – a Need for Speed game set in the Underground Series.  Well, we’re finally getting one.

The game was announced on February 11, 2012 at the 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo, under the name Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The game was released worldwide in November 2012.
